Hmmm... Did you receive an email from Nokia about this, or were you just shooting in the dark? And, when you got your invoice, did it have the discount applied?

Hi Tim,

No, Nokia didn't informed me about it. I was just checking today if the N810 was available for sale in Belgium, since it wasn't before yet. The discount is clearly mentioned after filling it in. It's also visible when performing the payment.

Conclusion, I was a very nice shot, isn't it ;-) !

Cheers, Jan

Very strange. As also being a Belgian and regularly checking Nokia's Belgian website I just haven't seen any announcement of the N810 being released in Belgium. Even now, I still see the N810 promoted as a 'not yet available' device. Where exactly were you able to buy this device (with the discount)?? Thanks a lot and have fun with it!

Hi Philip,

You can give following link a try : http://direct.nokia.com/countries.aspx?model=N810.

Concerning the discount code, only a limited number of real Maemo contributors have been selected sometime ago by Maemo team to receive a discount code.

Let me know when you succeeded ordering one.

Hi Giskard,

Just be patient, we can assume that it will be resolved soon.

Cheers, Jan

And what is the price that you need to pay with that discount ?

It worked! And with the discount code! I always checked nokia.be, but contrary to for instance the UK-website there is no online shop. http://direct.nokia.com/countries.aspx?model=N810 was indeed the way to go. Bedankt hé Jan!!

Where does the promotion code prompt show up? I don't see a field like that on the USA site anywhere before they ask for your credit card number.

Seems to work for Finland also.

Seems like you'll have to be a little bit of a hacker to get your device ;)

Just curious to know did you receive it yet & was it charged correctly, i.e. 99 Euros?

Hi H-Kachal,

That's the price the 'Maemo contributors' have to pay. Assuming you are a Maemo contributor too, you know already that you are spending a huge amount of 'free' time on this subject, the Maemo environment.

The only additional costs are the delivery costs.
The additional costs 'could be' the extra costs for additional memory, an extra battery, an better headphone, an external gps receiver, ...

Cheers, Jan

Hi Jan,
Thanks for reply. Totally agree that the contributors deserve a heavy discount but there have been numerous delays and problems in this particular 'contributors program'. As the first one to blog about ordering a device, I was curious to know if you have actually got the unit yet or has there been other problems since ordering?

Hi H-Kachal,

Yes, I have ordered my N810 and a few days later I have received it. It's working fine (at first sight), but currently I am very busy at work, so I haven't had the time yet to do some indepth review.

Cheers, Jan
