Nokia Internet Tablet - N800 (part 3)
Nokia has announced an update to the Internet Tablet OS 2007 software edition. The so-called 'feature upgrade release' is now available for download for Nokia N800 owners.

The update includes Skype client support, Adobe® Flash® 9 browser plug-in (previous version was only Flash® 7), improvements in online use times and single memory card support up to 8 GB, and last but not least an improved super sensitive touchscreen. Also delightful new pre-installed content is available.
The 'feature upgrade release' is the successor of the maintenance release launched end of March 2007.

A few thoughts about the upgrade process.
* backup your data using the available tool 'backup tool' [a nice feature]
* download the new Internet Tablet OS 2007 software edition
* make sure your N800 has a 'full' battery
* follow the process explained using graphical dialog boxes, at the end the local configuration settings make this process complete
* restore the backup
* install a preferred additional applications using the application installation tool
This complete upgrade process took me in total around 15 minutes ! What do I have, the latest software, new features, all my data and last but not least all my configuration data has been restored using the backup utility. So no reconfiguration of wireless settings required ! My first impression is again 'Nokia you did a good job' ! Currently, I can say that the combination of the Nokia N800 together with my Blackberry 8707v is a perfect match. Two devices, each of them doing 'their' job in an excellent way.
