Nokia Internet Tablet - N800 (part 10)
As I mentioned already a few times in earlier posts, the Nokia N800 can be used easily to watch (converted) videos, like movies, concerts, ... . In fact, this is one of the features I use very often.
The amazing screen quality combined with - in my opinion - a good sound quality using a headset is the ideal solution for watching videos (when no television is available).
To convert the videos, I am using Urho Konttori's Media Converter. The program has been written with one main goal, an easy to use video conversion program for the Nokia Internet Tablets. It works on Windows XP/2000/98/Me, Apple OSX and Linux, it requires Java 1.4 or later. The current version of the Media Converter is 1.43, tuned for the N800.
In fact, all you have to do is:
- start the Media Converter software
- select the videos to be converted
- define some settings like video resolution, video bitrate, audio bitrate, subtitles, high quality conversion, ... and so on. In fact, once you have defined and configured your preferred settings, it's just a few clicks of effort.
- after the conversion you have to copy the videos towards the Internet Tablet via USB interface
